TRAPPED EMOTIONS IN DETAIL

A Trapped Emotion is a ball of unprocessed negative energy stored within the body - survival centred emotions, such as fear, anxiety and worthlessness, brought on through stressful or traumatic events, situations or periods of time. Emotions become trapped when they are not processed properly. This can mean anything from emotions being very intense or drawn out so that there’s just too much to process, such as grief or terror, or that we didn’t have time to deal with feeling the emotion and simply moved on quickly, forgetting we ever felt that way. Also, the subconscious mind can become very efficient at hurrying our difficult emotions away, before our conscious brain has even registered we feel that way. Read The Subconscious Mind page to see just how skillful it is at protecting us from suffering and distress.

These balls of negative energy vibrate at a low frequency, which is not at all good for our body and mind. For more detail about how energy works go to ‘Learn More’ and the Everything is Energy page where you can read about how energy attracts energy of the same frequency. That will help you understand how Trapped Emotions can cluster in the body and build up in the same place over time, causing imbalance, disruption and agitation, also potentially providing the perfect environment for pain and disease to develop. The science of Epigenetics is dedicated to the research of cell environments which then affect the development of cells - that environment is of course energy.

With low vibration residing inside us, we can then be susceptible to producing or attracting yet more of that same emotion and become prone to feeling the same feelings on a regular basis. The subconscious mind learns quickly and works on past experience, meaning we can easily develop patterns of behaviour without realising, reinforced by that matching low vibration already there. An angry person will often be quick to anger or an impatient person will often feel frustrated. Trying to overcome these patterns can be a lot easier if you eliminate the vibration from within you first.

Trapped Emotions can also be inherited - passed down from generation to generation within families! Individual or collective trauma from hundreds of years ago can be present in our bodies from the moment we’re born and in turn we can pass these down to our own children. Being energetically connected, when an inherited emotion is released it is also released from everyone in the chain, which is really beautiful and often a huge comfort to my clients. It’s also extremely interesting, especially if you know a bit about your family history - (Great Great Great Aunt Millicent really did have a terrible time when her husband ran off, abandoning her with five children and a huge debt!)

We can also absorb negative energies from others and collect Trapped Emotions that way. This might happen in very intense situations or from parents to their children, either in the womb or from close contact. Fortunately this is less common, but still as gentle to release, with no discomfort to anyone involved.

HEARTWALLS®

In his life’s work researching and developing The Emotion Code, Dr Bradley Nelson discovered that, not only does the subconscious mind take care of storing our Trapped Emotions, as well as keeping our bodies running efficiently, in a tactical move of ultimate protection it creates a wall of energy around the heart, known as a Heart-Wall.

The heart is the body’s number one energy source - keeping us alive. And it can easily be damaged, especially through emotional hurt and distress, so it’s no surprise that 95% of adults have one!

Having your Heart-Wall cleared is one of the best things you can do for yourself in terms of experiencing greater love and connection, creativity, passion and the courage to break free and try new things. We’re often told when leaving school or college ‘Follow your heart’ - that’s difficult when there’s a barrier of energy blocking the signal!

Clearing Heart-Walls is one of my favourite things as an energy healing practitioner and I often uncover some profound emotions for my clients, that lead to a greater understanding of themselves and how they show up in the world. It really is wonderful to see such renewed lightness and vitality in people as their Heart-Walls are gone and they leave with a beautiful sense of happiness and peace.

Everyone is different, so we never know how many Trapped Emotions might make up a Heart-Wall. Some may have only 5, others 25. How many are around your heart?

VIBRATION

It’s worth taking note that the Emotion Code is purely dealing with leftover negative vibration from our emotional response to trauma and difficulty, dissolving and clearing it from the body’s energy field and making space for a renewal of positive energy. The high vibrational nourishment that brings is what our bodies thrive on.

Life goes on after the Emotion Code and will inevitably provide us with with suffering of some sort in the future and some of us will end up enduring more than others. In order for us to maintain a healthy balance in body and mind we need to allow ourselves to experience our emotions fully, both positive and negative - there is no good or bad when it comes to emotions and ‘what we resist persists’. We must try to be conscious of how we are feeling, listening to our bodies and feeling the discomfort, understanding and allowing emotions to pass through and dissipate naturally. That’s how our emotions should ideally be processed, giving us the opportunity to move forward in life with greater resilience.

It’s so difficult to maintain such a level of awareness and it takes time and practice. We are human after all! That’s why the Emotion Code is such a great healing method, as we can continue to uncover, release and transform those negative energies that evade us in future.
